____________________________________________________

Highland Village, Iona, invites you to join us for the launch of
STÒRAS, a four day Gaelic Folklife Celebration from July 30th to
August 2nd.

The first three days of Stòras will feature a Gaelic folklife school
with talks on Cape Breton’s Gaelic traditions and sessions on
effective searching and use of Sruth nan Gàidheal, the on-line Cape
Breton Gaelic Folklore Collection. Presentations will be complimented by
hands-on learning activities and social time conducted entirely through
the Gàidhlig aig Baile immersion method in Highland Village’s historic
buildings. An innovative approach to transmitting Gaelic culture and
language in familiar surroundings, Gaelic immersion activities will
teach songs, dance and domestic chores. The Gaelic Folklife school
program will run Wednesday to Friday from 9:30am to 4:00pm.
